Creola is a cityin Mobile County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,926 as of the 2010 Census. This was down from 2,002 at the 2000 census, at which time it was still a town. It is included in the Mobile metropolitan statistical area. It incorporated in 1978.
As of the census of 2010, there were 1,926 people, 692 households, and 519 families residing in the town. The population density was 131.9 people per square mile (51.0/km²). There were 775 housing units at an average density of 53.1 per square mile (20.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 84.7% White, 9.8% Black or African American, 1.8% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 1.9% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. 3.1% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 692 households out of which 34.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.3% were married couples living together, 12.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% were non-families. 18.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.13.
In the town the population was spread out with 25.2% under the age of 18, 11.3% from 18 to 24, 26.1% from 25 to 44, 26.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35.6 years. For every 100 females there were 108.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 110.7 males.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town had a total area of 15.5 square miles (40 km²), of which 14.6 square miles (38 km²) is land and 0.9 square miles (2.3 km²) (5.62%) is water.
